Travis and Tanya share a love for each other, and a love for Tap Dance.  This season, they aim to share their love of dance with the world.

The Tap Love Tour, is a traveling workshop series aimed at increasing awareness and appreciation for the art of Tap within all who attend.  It is a 3.5hr workshop experience where students receive 3 workshops focusing on technique, history, and musicality respectively.  At the end, they are treated to a short demonstration and a Q&A with both Travis and Tanya.

Join the movement.  Spread the love.

TAP LOVE

OUR MISSION

It's no secret that the world loves tap dance. We aim to find the reasons why. What connects so many people from so many places and cultures to the art of tap? What's your answer? Why do you love tap?

OUR METHOD

Our mission is simple:
to spread the love of tap around the world.

TAP WORKSHOPS

While working with Tapestry Dance Company in Austin, Texas, we participated in a yearly outreach program for school children where we got to 'share the power of dance'. We aim to carry this mission with us around the world. Part of the tap love world tour will focus on sharing our gifts with the community, be it through a public performance, or an impromptu intro to tap class, or reaching out to local senior homes, youth centers, wherever there is need.

OUTREACH

While travelling we will be asking the tap dancers we meet if they could be granted 3 wishes, what would they be, following the lead of Baroness Nica de Koenigswarter, who possed the same question to jazz musicians in the 50s 60s and 70s and put together the book "Three Wishes: An Inimimate Look at Jazz Greats."

3 WISHES

If you were trapped on a desert island and you could only bring one tap clip with you to watch again and again, what clip would you bring? We've begun to compile video answers to this questions from tap dancers in Canada and the U.S.A. The answers give us new clips to watch and new perspective to watch them with. We're looking forward to collecting more answers from the tap dancers around the world.
